Please see School bus service details below, there are a number of changes to the way that the school bus services operate and are being provided this year as a result of the Council withdrawing funding for non-statutory fare paying secondary school bus services from September 2014 onwards

The Council has attempted to mitigate the impact of the loss of these services and during the summer the Council consulted with bus operators. As a result some of these operators agreed to provide bus services on a commercial basis to schools where demand should allow the services to be commercially viable. As these services are commercial the fares on the route have been set by the operator and the operational control of the service is essentially with the bus operator and not with the Council.

The commercial bus services which are provided by NAT Group will operate to both Bishop of Llandaff School and Ysgol Plasmawr.  The operator has only been able to provide these services by catering for pupils from the two schools in order to make them commercially viable.  The Council is aware of the issues when bus services serve two separate schools and will be working with the operator to ensure that the services operate without problems from September.
